So as I mentioned yesterday, I’ve been doing some cleaning lately. [And yes, this is one of the signs of the apocalypse, so get prepared!!] It’s actually a really exciting thing for me because it shows just how far I’ve come health-wise. I mean, I haven’t really done housework with any regularity since I got married. There wasn’t much time or energy between 3 neck surgeries, 2 pregnancies (albeit one very brief), an appendectomy, et al. So the fact that I am feeling well enough to clean and do laundry is truly something to rejoice over!
And this is not just your run-of-the-mill cleaning (okay, maybe it is for normal people) . . . I’ve done like 4 loads of laundry and PUT THE CLOTHES/DIAPERS AWAY (miraculous!); cleaned the toilet, sink, and counter; done the dishes TWICE; cleaned the microwave; washed the kitchen counters and stove; and picked up around the living room. Next thing you know, I’ll be vacuuming!
Of course, I am always seeking external validation, making sure that Neal knows how much of his work I am doing around the house. So true to form, today I asked him what he thought of all the stuff I was doing. Our conversation went something like this:
“It makes me kinda sad. But I guess I’ll get used to it eventually.”
“Sad? You mean, you wish you could still do these jobs?”
“Oh, no. Because something happened to my actual wife. And now I have to get used to this new version. I don’t even know where Lindsay went, but I’m sure I’ll adjust.”
Funny guy
Funny guy! I’m impressed with all you’ve done. I would call that a full day. I wasn’t sure getting laundry washed, folded and put away in the same day was possible, you give me hope. I know, I have more laundry, but I also have kids who should be putting their own clothes away, so it should even out

Hey, at least you have an excuse. Stephen is probably wondering not whether I’ll ever start doing housework again like when we were first married, but whether I’ll ever start. hehe.
