I wish I was a cartoonist…

So that I could draw you a pictorial representation of the crazy happenings around our house last night (my friend Lindsay, animator extraordinaire, did this once and it totally rocked).  Maybe google images can do it justice…

11:00 p.m.

CB101745 That’s me.

12:29 a.m.

giant man-eating spiderThat’s the giant man-eating spider I discovered eating my flesh.

12:30 a.m.

jumping out of bed That’s terrified me, jumping out of bed.  I have NEVER moved so fast in my life.

12:31 a.m.

yawning man That’s Neal, being awoken and forced to protect me against the giant man-eating spider.

[About 2 minutes after I woke him up, it started to dawn on me that I was hallucinating and just really, really itchy.]

sleeping pills I try my best to avoid medication, especially now that baby girl is taking in everything I do, but when you are simply unable to stop hallucinating a giant man-eating spider eating your flesh, you know it’s time to break out the sleeping pills.

  2. I’m really sorry your sleep was so disturbed … but your pictorial representation is hilarious! I especially like the “possibly related posts” that WordPress so kindly generated for our viewing pleasure:

    * Romney: Opposed to giant gay flesh eating rats
    * Giant Spider Eating a Bird caught on Camera
    * Giant spider eating a bird caught on camera // Current

    HA HA HA!

I had a similar up-and-down night, but mine was two real-live toddlers instead of an imagined giant man-eating spider. Argh. Now I’m going to have a headache all day.

    • Those are hilarious, Trina! And for the record, I do think Romney is opposed to giant gay flesh eating rats. I’ve sensed the fear.

  5. Lindsay– you are amazing! Knowing how my own body handles night time wakings (poorly), I am just totally impressed with your ability to be funny about it. My heart goes out to you! I’ll be in town 10/24-25. I can’t wait to give you a big hug — if it won’t make you itch! Love, debbie

  6. Hey, sorry this has taken me awhile to get a comment on here, but CONGRATS!!!! on the baby! I’m so happy for you, and sorry that pregnancy is going a little rough for you. But ultimately so so happy for you both. I am finding out how fun girls can be, (Ok, really it just fun to look at all the cute girly things out there) so Ruby and baby girl Lindsay and Neal can be great friends I’m sure! Anyway, so excited for you. You’ll be in our prayers….
