Pictures for the Weekend: First solids

Filed under: Family, Pictures for the Weekend — llcall @ 6:04 pm

We’ve seen a lot of changes in our baby girl over the last week.  Just about two or three weeks ago, she learned to hold her own bottle and got very excited and lunged toward it every time the bottle was in sight.  And then about three days ago, she decided she was done with the bottle and just wants mommy.  Since it’s been so blazing hot (and this girl inherited the Larson sweating genes), we’ve let her try drinking a little water out of a cup.  The first day, we had some spillage, but by day two, she drank from the cup like she’d been doing it all her life — she spilled less water than I do.  Seriously.  It was embarrassing.

She’s also been obsessed with our food for about two months, but it’s really kicked into high gear the last couple of weeks.  She looks at us like we’re betraying her when we eat our food and evade her grasp.  So yesterday we decided to start her on some rice cereal.

I thought the pictures would be funny and entertaining, but the truth is, she was pretty matter-of-fact about the whole thing.  It was like, Duh, I’m supposed to be eating solid food, you lame-os.

  1. Fun! I loved the new food stages, they’re so fun. Especially when they’re not so sure and you get funny faces, for my kids that wasn’t until after cereal, so there’s still a chance for some funny pictures. I can’t get over how cute she is!

  2. You got the chair! Is she liking it? I love how her bib covers her whole body. Ingenious. =)

    • The bumbo seat is definitely helping us…we can eat again as long as we keep handing her toys or random household objects. But I can’t say she loves it…she can almost get out of it already!! She wants to move, move, move.

      • Ha yeah, we have to do the same with Madeleine. We leave a rotation of toys near the seat and hand them to her.
